June 26th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

AAA Mid-Atlantic projects over 870,000 Marylanders will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Independence Day holiday, a 2.3 percent increase compared to the number of residents who traveled last year.  This year’s forecast represents the highest travel volume by Marylanders for the holiday period on record (AAA data dates back to 2001).

The Independence Day holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, July 1 to Sunday, July 5, the same number of days as the 2014 holiday.
