Heroin Crisis Shows No Signs of Slowing Down Locally

According to the most recent numbers, as of April 12, Cumberland police had responded to 49 heroin/opioid overdoses. Eleven of the 49 overdose victims died.  The heroin crisis has engulfed Allegany County and shows no signed of slowing down.  Despite of the growing problem, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, who has declared a war on opioid abuse, said incremental progress is being seen.
