On 11/27/2012, at approximately 2108 hours, Troopers responded to a reported hit & run motor vehicle collision, with injury, on Md. Rt. 53 (Winchester Road) near the entrance to Braddock Square in LaVale, Allegany County, Maryland.  Upon arrival of Troopers, the investigation revealed that Sutton Apsey, 19 years of age, of Cresaptown, MD., was driving a 1998 Ford Contour through a green light from Braddock Square onto Rt. 53.  At that time, a 2006 GMC Sierra, operated by John Munday, 57 years of age, of Cumberland, MD., was driving on Rt. 53 and failed to stop for a red light, and struck the Ford Contour.  After the collision, Munday failed to stop at the scene of the collision, and was located by Troopers a short distance away on Rt. 53.  Munday and Apsey were both transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.  Munday was charged with DUI, fleeing the scene of a personal injury collision, and related traffic charges.  Additionally, Munday was found to be in possession of a small quantity of suspected marijuana.  Munday was issued a criminal citation for possession of CDS, and released on his signature after charging.
