Hogan Points to Tougher Punishments, Not More Gun Laws

More than 200 mayors from across the country are urging the Senate to return to Washington from their break to act on gun safety legislation.  This follows two recent mass shootings; several police officers shot in Philadelphia Wednesday and the shooting of a Baltimore City Police officer last week. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan tells WBAL Radio that he does not believe there need to be more gun laws. He said Maryland’s gun laws are fine as they are- what is needed is tougher punishments. He said unfortunately some of those measures he has pushed for have faced opposition in the General Assembly with leadership focused on other approaches…

    FBI statistics actually tell a story, if you look at them. Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis all tell the real story, but no one wants to deal with reality.
