We are still more than three weeks away from the start of the 2017 session of the Maryland General Assembly- but the political battle lines over transportation funding are already clearly marked. Republican Governor Larry Hogan says he will call for a repeal of the Transportation Investment Act that was approved last year- calling it the “road kill bill” that halts key road and bridge projects in almost every jurisdiction in the state. Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz labels Hogan's claims as "dishonest" and a thing of "fake news." Locally there is strong backing for the governor, with Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine agreeing with the Hogan’s assessment of the current legislation…
