The Reverend Dan Taylor told the Cumberland Rotary Club this week, that it was his participation in the annual Summer Lunch Box program that opened his eyes to just how big a problem poverty and hunger has become in Cumberland. The program provides meals to economically disadvantaged children in the area- and Taylor, who heads up the Union Rescue Mission played an active role this year. He said seeing the large number of children with rags for clothes and obviously under fed was a shock to him, and has made him realize that so much more needs to be done to address the problem…
