Icy weather early Saturday may slow holiday travelers as well as shoppers on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 3 a.m. to noon Saturday. Up to one-tenth of an inch of sleet and freezing rain are forecast, which could make roads and sidewalks slippery, according to the weather service. The advisory covers portions of Western Maryland, northwest and western Virginia and eastern West Virginia. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing later Saturday. Rain is forecast with a high temperature of 36 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
