The first Colbert-Lewis Dinner of the Allegany County Democratic Central Committee was held Friday night at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club. Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin was the keynote speaker for the event which was named in honor of two county democrats: William Colbert Jr. a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, and David J. Lewis, a state senator who heped pass the Social Security bill in the House in 1935. The event was previously known as the Jefferson/Jackson Day Dinner.
