On Friday, members of the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit arrested 71 year old Robert Bradley Malamis Sr. after an indictment had been issued by the Allegany County Grand Jury. The indictment and arrest warrant stem from a six month long joint investigation by the Allegany County Department of Social Services-Child Protective Services and the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I). Allegations that Malamis had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a 9 year old female victim were first reported to Child Protective Services in December 2014. The victim was interviewed at that time. Numerous other interviews were also conducted as part of the investigation, which eventually led to the Grand Jury indictment. Malamis was charged with 3rd Degree Sex Offense and Sexual Abuse of a Minor. He is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond, pending his next court appearance.
