It’s Drug Take Back Day

October 27th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

This weekend, all over Maryland, people can get rid of their unwanted prescription drugs. The Drug Enforcement Administration's National Drug Take Back Day is today (Saturday). It's an easy and important way to make sure drugs don't get into the wrong hands. Since it began eight years ago, the effort to clean out medicine cabinets of unused and expired prescription drugs has yielded millions of pounds of pills. In Maryland, drop-off locations are available year-round, but on Saturday, law enforcement will collect drugs at more than 100 locations. They do ask for no liquids and no syringes. Pills can be in original bottles or in a bag. Local drop-off locations are at the State Police Barracks in LaVale, Keyser and Romney as well as the Mineral County Sheriffs Office.
