I was a player for Coach Jim Refosco in 1965-1967. He was the 1st football coach in Chopticon’s history. It was the first year of integration in St. Mary’s County high schools and the movie “Remember The Titans” was what we went through in beginning football at Chopticon. He coached us with records of 6-2, 8-2, and 9-1. He left an indelible positive impression on me as a player. His ability to motivate, challenge and inspire in his coaching was phenomenal. I became a high school football coach for 25 years and what he taught me became my driving force in my coaching career. He was awesome! I will never forget him and what he gave to me.

I had played for Mr. Refosco for two years at Rahway High School in New Jersey. He was an awesome coach. Loved him !
He led us to a tie of 20-20 against the number one team in the state of New jersey which was Westfield. We were so proud of that game. I am now 68 years old and retired to The villages in Florida. An awesome place to live .
Because of the very hard training we went through in the heat with full pads, I can handle the heat in Florida very well. We have dancing for four hours each night here at several of our town Squares. And believe it or not, I can dance the entire night away for almost four hours and so many folks are amazed how I can keep going all night. I am 68 years old and I am considered to be in the top one percent of dancers here at the Villages. And I contribute that to my bing trained when I was
in football at Rahway. Thanks coach. And God be with you. I will see you one day in Heaven. Sincerely Jack Flath
