According to Governor Martin O'Malley, Maryland has recovered all of the jobs the state lost during the recession of 2008. A U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report released this week announced 9,700 jobs were created in August, with 4,900 in the private sector. Additionally Maryland's unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percent in August to 7 percent. O'Malley signed an executive order Friday giving businesses preferential treatment in the procurement process that offer apprenticeship program to train new workers.
