Donning a bright orange safety vest, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice held a press conference this week to discuss his new initiative to fix the state’s crumbling secondary roads. Last month, Justice asked local DOH workers to prepare lists of all the state roads that need repaired and what equipment they would need to repair them. New transportation secretary Byrd White said a final form of projects that will be completed before the end of the fiscal year on June 30 will be posted to the agency’s website this week. Justice said the Division of Highways has shifted its focus to maintaining existing state roads.
