Justice Says WV on Track for Economic and COVID Recovery

COVID-19 continues to present a delicate balance for governors as they try to reopen the economy without putting citizens at risk. West Virginia Governor Jim Justice covered both sides in his regular COVID briefing on Wednesday. He began by reporting the state had recorded  27 new COVID-19 cases- bringing the state total to  2,932 cases with 555 that are active. The daily positive rate as of Wednesday morning was 0.35%, with a cumulative rate of 1.69%. The death toll remains at 93.  Locally Mineral County shows a total of 54 cases with two deaths. While those numbers are among the best in the nation- Governor Justice said that perhaps even more impressive is the state’s fiscal picture with West Virginia ended the fiscal year with a budget surplus…
