August 27th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

WCBC News has learned that Karl Brubaker has resigned as Director of the Allegany County Animal Shelter. Brubaker took over management of the shelter in December 2010, and has been a key part of the organization as the shelter moved under the current management foundation. Several cases were in the news in recent years, including the "Lucky 33" situation on Cumberland's Greene Street, the McGill Drive case in Bel Air, and the recent bust of an alleged puppy mill on Maryland Avenue. Becky McClarran, President of the Animal Management Foundation, confirmed Brubaker’s resignation, noting that he did not provide a reason for his decision to step down. She says an interim has been appointed, and a search for a replacement will get underway in the near future…
