Kevin Shaffer Retires

Kevin Shaffer, an Allegany County Employee who has been on paid leave for several months after using profanity during a County Commission meeting, has retired.  Allegany County Government released the following statement:

"The Board of County Commissioners of Allegany County, Maryland and Kevin M. Shaffer have reached an agreement concerning Mr. Shaffer's employment with the County. Mr. Shaffer, a long time County employee, has retired from his employment with the County, pursuant to the terms of a written Agreement. The terms of that Agreement are confidential. Mr. Shaffer expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in County Government and expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Allegany County for allowing him to have served their interests. The County expressed its appreciation for Mr. Shaffer's public service. Pursuant to the parties' written Agreement, no other comments will be provided by the parties."
