A Ku Klux Klan Rally took place Saturday afternoon at the Allegany County Courthouse. Here is a sample of the reaction by a couple of hundred residents who did not appreciate the message…
The rally was cut short by about 45 minutes, with the handful of Klansmen making a quick exit to vehicles, which got caught in traffic.
Cumberland Police report the situation was relatively incident free, and no arrests were made.
Estimates of the crowd at a counter demonstration at Canal Place are that about 250 attended that event, making a total of about 400 at both locations.
