Lakes Believes Rocky Gap Will Be Successful Venture

Although Maryland has been relatively late to embrace the gaming industry- officials of the Lakes Entertainment Group planning to operate a slots casino at the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort don’t believe that puts them at a competitive disadvantage.  Although Maryland voters approved a slots license for Allegany County back in 2008- it wasn’t until last summer that the license was awarded.  The license was bid on three different occasions. However,  the plan now is for a 500 machine slots parlor complete with table games to open at Rocky Gap in June. Tim Cope, Lakes President, tells WCBC News that a gaming operation in Allegany County offers a number of advantages that should lead to a successful venture…
