August 2nd, 2012 by WCBC Radio

On Wednesday at approximately 4:15PM, deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office along with Troopers from the State Police Cumberland Barrack responded to the 14710 Winchester Rd.  for a reported assault involving a knife.  On arrival it was determined that that a verbal argument between two males over use of a vehicle escalated to the point that Troy Carlisle McClauey Sr. (46 years old, LaVale) allegedly assaulted the victim who then locked himself in a bedroom.  According to witnesses, McClauey then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and attempted to force open the bedroom door where the victim was hiding.  Once McClauey learned that law enforcement had been notified, the incident de-escalated and McClauey surrendered without incident as Deputies and Troopers arrived on the scene.

The victim was not injured as a result of this incident and the knife believed to have been used was recovered at the scene.  As a result of this incident, Allegany County Sheriff's Deputies charged McClauey with one count of 1st degree assault, one count of 2nd degree assault and one count of reckless endangerment.  Following an initial appearance at the District Court Commissioner's Office, McClauey was ordered held without bail.
