On Friday 49 year old Ronald Lee Bierman, Jr., of LaVale, was arrested by members of the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) after a warrant had been issued for his arrest, charging him in connection with an alleged rape.
The charges are the result of an investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and C3I into allegations that Bierman, a registered sex offender, had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a 21 year old female victim.
Bierman was charged with 2nd Degree Rape, 3rd Degree Sex Offense, and 2nd Degree Assault. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance, and is currently being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center, pending his next court appearance.
