LaVale Resident Asks For Drafting Of Cat Ordinance

A Lavale man has asked the Allegany County Commissioners to draft an ordinance that would address the growing problem of stray cats. Speaking at the most recent meeting of the commissioners, the man said that it’s not always a case of stray, unowned cats- but often times neighborhood cats that are allowed to roam free. He said he would like to see similar measures in place that currently pertain to dogs, placed on cats as well- meaning they would need to be caged or on a leash…

    Is this really all this man has to worry about? We do not need a cat ordinance. He needs a hobby.

    I agree. I have a cat who is an indoor cat. I get tired of all the neighborhood cats roaming on my property and getting my cat upset. Also, when a neighborhood cat goes into heat and sprays on my property, my cat goes crazy. People need to keep their animals on their own property. Cats shouldn't be allowed to roam free.
