Lefty Grove Park and statue was unveiled in downtown Lonaconing Saturday afternoon in ceremonies that featured state Senator George Edwards serving as the guest speaker. Some of Grove’s out-of-town and local relatives were in attendance and Ella Holly performed the national anthem. Bucky Schriver, who led the effort to posthumously honor the Hall of Fame professional pitcher and Lonaconing native, said that turning this project from a dream to reality took a true team effort extending far beyond the Georges Creek community….
