Lemons Rally Departs From Cumberland

An estimated 100 people and their-  classic, unique or just plain ugly cars departed  Cumberland Tuesday morning for the fourth annual Lemons Rally — Retreat From Moscow.  The four-day road trip featured dozens of a diverse group of uniquely decorated and designed vehicles from around the nation ready to begin a trek of hundreds of miles. This year’s event began just after 7 am at the Allegany Museum on Pershing Street. Eric Rood is the media contact the Lemon Rally and says the annual event starts near a city named Moscow, and ends somewhere near a spot related to the Eiffel Tower. Cumberland was chosen as the event’s starting place because of its close proximity to Moscow in the Georges Creek Valley of western Allegany County.  While it is a competition, many of the participants told WCBC News it all about having fun…

    WCBC should have gone down and done a broadcast from the start line. Would have been nice to hear from the participants.
