Lever Says ‘No Doubt’ on New Allegany

Dr. David Lever, executive director of Maryland’s Interagency Committee on School Construction,  tells WCBC News that he has no doubt the new Allegany High School project will come to fruition. The status of the project has been somewhat uncertain since early September when bids came in some $20 million above original projections. Since that time the state has stepped up with an additional ten million and the county an additional four million. Efforts are continuing through “value engineering” to lower the cost- however Lever says he would anticipate the school costing at least $55 million…
