One of the more controversial topics in Annapolis in recent years has been the push to move toward legalizing marijuana. Efforts have been successful by the general assembly to approve medical marijuana and this years session led to the decriminalizing of the drug. Further efforts will not have local support. During a recent Allegany County Chamber of Commerce candidates forum featuring the four area candidates running for the House of Delegates- all agreed the completely legalizing marijuana for recreational purposes is a bad idea.
