Local delegates oppose tax hike bill

Members of the Maryland House of Delegates have approved a  a bill to boost income tax rates for individuals earning above $100,000 and couples filing jointly earning above $150,000. The vote was 81-56. Delegates Kevin Kelly, Leroy Myers and Wendell Beitzel all voted against the bill. The House also approved three other budget related bills. The vote on a $35.9-billion budget was 95-43. The House also approved a companion bill that makes changes from the governor's budget,  88-50.
