January 31st, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Ray Short, a teacher at Braddock Middle School, has begun the planning and registration for a June 2018 European tour.  Tours are not associated with any school or school district and are open to students from any school or college, as well as adults.

The 2018 tour is entitled “Via Aurelia” and will travel to Spain, France, and Italy.  Mr. Short works with the American Council of International Studies for the planning and implementation of his educational tours. Students can also get a college credit for participating in this trip.

The tour will travel to Barcelona, Spain; Carcassonne, Provence, Arles, and Nice in France; Monte Caro in Monaco; and Pisa, Florence, and Rome in Italy as well as Vatican City.  Each city is packed full of visits to historical and cultural destinations, and the group will take part in a French food challenge.

Taking his first group of students in the summer of 1978, Mr. Short has taken more than 1,000 students on such educational tours, which have taken student to more than 25 countries. While on tour with Mr. Short, students have had the opportunity to dive into history and culture.

Anyone interested in information about this educational opportunity should contact Mr. Short at 301-729-2876.  Applications are currently being accepted, and the group will close at 45 participants.
