The Cumberland Times News reports Miranda Ann White, 20, Oakland, was being held on a bond of $50,000 Monday morning after authorities accused her of stealing her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle and driving over top of him Sunday afternoon in downtown Oakland.

Garrett County Sheriff’s Detective Mark Pfaff said deputies responded at 4:40 p.m. Sunday to Brewed Awakenings Coffee Shop on Second Street where the male victim’s Hyundai Sante Fe had crashed into the brick wall of the business.

White and the male victim, 20, of Oakland, but not yet named, were found on the ground near the vehicle, Pfaff said.

The male remained in Garrett County Memorial Hospital on Monday morning with what Pfaff described as injuries that are not life-threatening. White was also taken to the hospital before being jailed.

White allegedly initially assaulted the man with her hands in the Town Parking Lot about 300 yards from the coffee shop.

Pfaff alleges that White hit and knocked down a city post and clock on Second Street before crashing through an iron fence and gate and running over the victim.

Pfaff said the victim had attempted to escape the vehicle by jumping through the iron gate.

Charges against White include attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, vehicle theft and destruction of property.
