Locating A Minor League Baseball Team In Cumberland Discussed

The concept of locating a minor league baseball team in Cumberland has been talked about at varying levels of interest over the years- and its being discussed again as former Mayor Lee Fiedler and local accountant Larry Hohing are leading an effort to have a feasibility study conducted. The last time the idea was the subject of legitimate interest by local officials was in the early 1990’s when then Allegany County Commissioner Bernie Loar expressed support. Nothing materialized then- and its unknown if such a plan would work locally, which is part of what a $50,000 feasibility study will help determine. Hohing tells WCBC News that the idea is in its very preliminary stages…
