November 19th, 2011 by WCBC Radio

The Pentagon has awarded Maryland defense contractor Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $7.4 billion to upgrade the Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. According to WBAL News, the contract is having Lockheed Martin develop system upgrades and enhance the performance of the aircraft. Earlier this year, the Air Force grounded the F-22 fleet four months with problems with its oxygen-supply system. The problems have prompted a larger examination of the stealth fighter.
