Saturday evening in Lonaconing a male subject entered the residence of an elderly female and displayed a small knife and demanded money. The subject did not obtain anything from the residence and fled. Allegany Sheriffs Department deputies responded to the scene and searched the area along with Maryland State Police. However, they were unable to locate the suspect.
Sunday evening authorities responded to the scene of another home invasion in the same area of Lonaconing. Once again a male subject entered the residence of an elderly female and displayed a knife and demanded money. The subject obtained a small amount of cash from the victim. The Allegany County Sherriffs Department, Maryland State Police, Maryland Natural Resources Police, Trooper 5, and Maryland State Police K-9 Unit all responded and assisted in the search for the suspect. After a 4 hour search of the area the suspect was located and taken into custody.
