The Maryland Department of Transportaion has announced that a ground breaking ceremony on new U.S. 219 Highway in Garrett County will be held Saturday afternoon.The creation of this new roadway will equip the area for traffic growth and address safety concerns by separating through heavy truck traffic from local traffic along the existing US 219. The US 219 Realignment Project also supports local and regional growth by supporting economic development.
