Lt. Gov. Comes Away From Heroin Task Force Meeting With Tremendous Insight

Maryland Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford brought the task force on heroin abuse to western Maryland earlier this month- and he says he came away from that day long session with tremendous insight into some or the problems, as well as possible solutions.  The meeting, held two weeks ago in Hagerstown was the fourth regional summit of the Maryland Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force. Elected officials and law enforcement leaders from the state’s four western counties attended.  Rutherford is leading Governor Larry Hogan’s initiative to address the rising rate of fatal overdoses in Maryland. He says the most compelling and useful information came from patients at the Finan Center…
