Man Arrested After Downtown Disturbance

An officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol in the area of Pershing Street early Sunday when he came upon a subject creating a disturbance in the street.

The subject began to yell obscenities at the officer and took off running down Mechanic Street. As the officer was speaking with several witnesses, the same white male came back to the area and once again started yelling obscenities at the officer. At that time the officer informed the subject that he was under arrest. The subject once again took off running from the officer.

Several additional officers responded to the area and located the subject running toward the Canal Shops. The subject was apprehended near the Footer Dye building and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department. The subject was later identified as, Eric William Plevy. Mr. Plevy was processed, served and later released on a criminal citation.

Arrested: Eric William Plevy Age: 24 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: Disorderly Conduct.
