Man Arrested After Traffic Stop With More Than 30 Lbs Of Marijuana

On 03.25.2019 at approximately 12:20 AM Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office were on patrol on Interstate 68 in the Cumberland area when they observed a passenger car being operated above the speed limit and with non-functioning lighting equipment. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and pursuant to a probable cause search located 18 packages containing suspected marijuana. The suspected marijuana weighed over 30 lbs, and with consideration to the packaging and quantity indicated an intent to distribute. 

Deputies arrested 26-year-old Omar Kareem Teagle of Waldorf, MD. and charged him with possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana over 10 grams.  

Teagle was held at the Allegany County Detention Center pending an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
