Man Arrested For Assaulting Paramedics

On Saturday, February 18, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on John Bean Jr. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident which occurred in the early morning hours. On February 18, 2017 at approximately 2:00 AM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on S. Mechanic Street to assist the Cumberland Fire Department with a combative patient. Upon the officer’s arrival, he observed the suspect, John Bean Jr., pushing the paramedics. Bean then assaulted the officer. An application for charges was later filed at the District Court of Allegany County and an arrest warrant was issued. Bean was served with the warrant and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES: Assault- 2nd Degree, Disturbing the Peace, Obstructing & Hindering, Resisting Arrest
