On Thursday at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 300 block of Baltimore Avenue in reference to a domestic assault. Upon the officers arrival contact was made with a 14 year old male who stated that his dad beats him all the time and was beating him today. The victim stated that his father strikes him with a belt on his upper body, arms and legs. Officers observed slight injuries consistent with the victim's statements. Officers then made contact with the father who stated that his son was playing rough with his brother and would not listen so he used the belt on him. Joshua Dylan Dinges Sr was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing then taken to District Court for his initial appearance. Dinges was then released from District Court on a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.

Joshua Dylan Dinges Sr – age 36 – Cumberland, MD
Charges:
Second degree assault, reckless endangerment and neglect of a minor.
