On April 27, 2020, at 9:26 pm, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 600 block of East First Street for a breaking and entering in progress. While officers were responding, they were informed that the male suspect, Arthur Bunbasi Jr., age 21, of Cumberland, Maryland, had fled the scene. Officers also learned that Bunbasi had an opened and served Protective Order in place barring him from the property or contacting the victim. Bunbasi was located a short distance away and taken into custody without incident. Bunbasi was charged with obstructing and hindering, violation of a Protective Order, burglary 3rd degree, burglary 4th degree. Bunbasi was later taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance and released on his own recognizance pending trial.
