After winning the popular vote in both Iowa and New Hampshire and topping the most recent national poll- self proclaimed Socialist Bernie Sanders now carries the mantle of Democratic frontrunner in the presidential campaign. This places West Virginia U.S. Senator Joe Manchin in a difficult position. Manchin is viewed as one of the more bi-partisan democrats in the Senate- and while he represents a state that is overwhelmingly supportive of President Donald Trump- he would be hard pressed not to support his party’s eventual nominee. When pushed on whether there is any scenario in which he would endorse Sanders, Manchin said in the end he will make any decisions based on what’s best for his country and his state…
