This past week an Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, March 10, and concluded Friday, March 14, 2014.
Our goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants.
A total of thirty-one (31) individuals were arrested on active arrest warrants, with a total of thirty-two (32) arrest warrants being served, and one on view arrest. This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.
