Marchini Comments on Need for Unanimous Vote on Cox’s Future

Although she declined to say whether or not she supports renewing the contract of Allegany County School Superintendent David Cox for another four years- school board vice president Laurie Marchini says she doesn’t see a need for a vote either way to be unanimous. The board has until February 1st to notify Cox, whose contract expires in June, if they wish to retain his services. Board member-elect Lorelee Farrell, who is on record opposed to keeping Cox, said she would want any vote- for or against by the board- to be unanimous. Marchini, appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Thursday said it’s tough to get a unanimous vote once a superintendent has been on the job for several years…
