Maryland General Assembly Begins Session Today

Raising the minimum wage, ensuring access to health care and shoring up money for education are among the topics that are expected to dominate the Maryland General Assembly when it convenes today   for a 90-day session. With the session set to begin this afternoon, a new Gonzales Research poll released this week touched on some other key issues- and the numbers show a plurality of Maryland voters support legalizing sports betting in Maryland, while more than half favor legalizing marijuana in the state. Appearing on WBAL radio, pollster Patrick Gonzales said the poll found that 58 percent of those surveyed were in favor of legalizing marijuana, with 38 percent opposed.
