A group of Maryland lawmakers on Wednesday announced a package of gun control bills. The lawmakers, including state State Senator Brian Frosh, are acting after last week's mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut. Frosh, a Montgomery County Democrat, told WBAL Radio he is calling for legislation that would crack down on illicit gun sellers and restrict the availability of assault weapons.

It seems like everyone is in a rush to pass new gun control laws, mental health regulations, and other regulations because of the shooting. Shouldn’t the lawmakers at all levels of government wait until until the investigation is completed, and the facts are know (as much as possible); then have an open discussion based on the facts, before passing legislation?
