Following the Orlando nightclub massacre, some Maryland lawmakers are renewing the call for a ban on gun sales to people on the terrorist watch list. 

According to the Baltimore Sun, House Speaker Michael Busch said Thursday that the legislation will be a top priority for next year's session and he will call lawmakers back to Annapolis ahead of that for briefings. 

State lawmakers considered a similar proposal this year but it did not clear House or Senate committees.

Democratic Senator Bobby Zirkin says it's a no-brainer and he'll work to move the measure through the Judicial Proceedings Committee.
