Maryland Leads Nation in Adult Mortgage Delinquency

December 25th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Although it is one of the nation's wealthiest states per capita, Maryland leads the nation in a dubious category.

Lending Tree has done a nationwide analysis of mortgage debt, and Maryland ranks Number One with the highest percentage of adults delinquent on their mortgage at 2.1 percent.

West Virginia was fifth on that list at 1.8 percent. Interestingly enough, more people are behind on their house payment than their car payment.

OK help me out folks………Words mean things……What does or is an “Adult” mortgage? I know the world is nuts, does this mean there are “children” mortgages? Yes, I know there are a whole lot of adults who have mortgages and the mentality of a child but I digress…

LRH, I wondered what an “Adult Mortgage” was too. A quick search showed that only WCBC had that term as best I could find. Heck, I couldn’t find the Lending Tree report cited in this article.

Even more concerning, the best information I could find on mortgage delinquency, adult or otherwise, showed Maryland wasn’t on any of their lists.
