Maryland Lottery & Casinos Generated $829.54 Million To The State

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency announced this month that together, the lottery and casinos have generated $829.54 million to the state. Maryland Lottery officials say this number- which Maryland’s General Fund and Education Trust Fund benefit from- is an increase of 27.6 percent from the previous year. However, lottery sales dipped slightly from last year. The agency generated $1.756 billion in sales, down 2.2 percent from $1.795 billion. This contributed $545.2 in revenue to the state’s General Fund, down 1.9 percent from $556 million.
