Maryland Office On Aging Services To Be Reduced

As a result of the latest census numbers and population decline, Allegany County seniors will have some of the services provided through the Maryland Office on Aging reduced. The Allegany County Health Department serves as the Lead Agency to administer the Senior Care Program, and the program coordinator Jeanine L. Agosti briefed the County Commissioners on how the program is being impacted for this fiscal year. Funding for stands at $120,474, a decline of more approximately $84,000 from the previous year. Senior Care currently provides services to 52 clients monthly, however the number and the dollar amount of services provided to individuals will continue to decrease due to the budget reduction…
