Maryland Senate President Would Like To Expand Capital Punishment Eligible Cases

While some Maryland legislators want to debate the repeal of the death penalty there is one category of murder Senate President Mike Miller would like to add to the list of capital punishment eligible cases. Miller said last week that he'd like to expand the add teacher killers to the list. Governor Martin O'Malley is expected to introduce a bill to repeal the death penalty in Maryland—a bill the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will have to take up later this session. Miller is against repealing the death penalty saying that life without parole is not always an acceptable punishment…
