August 11th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Starting Sunday, Maryland's annual "Shop Maryland Tax Free Week" began and will run through Saturday at midnight. Clothing and shoes priced up to $100 are exempt from the state's 6% sales tax. According to WBAL News, Comptroller Peter Franchot says it's designed for family back to school shopping. The state also schedules one week in February where "Energy Star" appliances are exempt from sales tax.
