On 01/26/2017 at approximately 0945hrs., the Hagerstown MSP Barrack received numerous calls regarding that a family member or acquaintance has been involved in an altercation/kidnapped or has been involved in a serious accident. The unknown caller is advising that the family member or acquaintance is in need of money.
The Maryland State Police is urging that you do not send any money to the caller. The telephone number that has been utilized is 240-993-6051 this does not mean that it is a local telephone number and can be originating from anywhere. This incident is currently under investigation.
